Christmas Day 2008

The top two pic are of the afghan I made for my oldest grandson, the Japanese flag in the center and his name (Michel) in Japanese to the left.

The next two pics are of the afghan I made my son-in-law, Josh. He loves skulls and black and red colors.

The third is a pic of the pig bookmarker I made my oldest granddaughter who loves to read and loves pigs. I gave this to her on her birthday 12/23.

Both afghans are Christmas presents. I've now done and afghan for all family members (8 of them).

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Wednesday - Nov. 5, 2008

Wow, was last night a BIG night or what! Not since JFK came to our town campaigning back when I was 10 (a verrry looong time ago) have I felt so joyous about an election. History was made last night, but not until this morning did the realization really sink in for me. It was good to hear other people's feelings about our President-Elect and what hit me more was the reactions from around the world and how America is once again looked upon and a GOOD friend and not an enemy.

Subject change: I'm still working one two afghans for Christmas, not sure what year if I don't stop changing how I want to do them. Yesterday I started an afghan for someone who's expecting a baby in about a month, but I realized after seeing parts of it that are done, that it matches perfectly with my couch. So I've decided to do it for myself and give Erin several baby bibs that I've crocheted and a stuffed crocheted toy.

Well, it's time I get back to my projects. Have a great week.

Sunday - Oct. 26, 2008

Sure was a empty day not having a Bears game to watch. It's the one thing I look forward to Sundays for. Glad they'll be back next Sunday. Goooooo Bears ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

As usual I've been working on my son-in-laws afghan and it's beginning to make me a little "CRAZY". It's something that I've never tried i.e. I'm doing rectangles as I go to make it work around the center rec. w/a skull head on it. The colors I'm using are black and red. The black is really hard to see the stitches, so it takes me a little longer than working with the red.

I'm hoping to get initial pillows done for the grandkids for Christmas but with two afghans to get done I'm not sure I'll get the pillows done. I'm gonna give it a good try though.

I'm still figuring out this whole blog thing and how to upload pics, so for not I think I'll go and work on that project.

Tuesday Oct. 21, 2008

Greetings to you all,

I was rather bored this afternoon so I thought, why not start a blog, so as you can see, I have.

I am a crochet-a-halic. Right now I'm working on a Christmas present for my son-in-law and when his is done, I have to do the oldest grandson's present. I have a store on Blujay if anyone is interested in what I have for sale, what with Christmas coming and all. Go to:www.blujay.com/grandmum6. The reason I opened and on-line store is to help suppliment my soc. sec. disb. income.

I have to me the most adorable puppy, his name is Buddy. He is half chi & half yorkie. I'll post a pic of him so that you can see him. I got him when he was 4mos. old, he'll be 6mos. on the 25th. Due to a bug problem in the back yard we've been having to take the dogs out front on a leash. At first Buddy didn't much like it but now he's gotten used to it. His favorite thing to do on our walks is to chase tiny crickets and ants.

Well, I'm gonna go for now.

Thanks for stopping by.
